Requirements

So, what do you have to do now that you’d read the story? As the title says, you have to make a connection with a tree or a plant. Get outside, take a photo of a tree you love or with that tree, why not? You’re free to modify the photo in any way and add effects to a certain extent. If photography is not your thing, you could also make a collage, draw or paint a tree that shaped your life, a tree that means as much to you as Milan meant to me, a tree that fits into the sentence from John’s handwritten message. If you’re not into graphic arts either, feel free to write a longer story, poem or even record a musical piece.

Send your artwork and a short story or a poem about your tree to iva@invisible-movement.net with the subject 2008 Competition - make a connection with a tree or a plant. Please, include your first and last name as as well as your home address. You have time until 31st May 2008 to do this. Do not forget any of these details. Also, your written piece must be in English. If you’re submitting a song, provide its lyrics instead and explain how it’s connected to a tree.

After I’ve sorted out all of your submissions, I will post them on a separate gallery page, with codes instead of authors’ names. Visitors of Invisible Movement will be able to comment on submissions and rate them on the scale between 1 and 5 for ten to fourteen days. At the end of the given period of time, by 30th June 2008 latest, the winners will be announced and the prizes listed on the top of this page will be delivered to them.

The submissions’ gallery will remain displayed for everyone to see how creative the visitors of this website are. Of course, with voting done, you’ll be able to have your actual names on your pieces of artwork.

Restrictions

- As some countries require such measures, you have to be at least 14 years old to participate in this competition.

- Do not send anything rated above PG-13. Please.

- Do not send files bigger than 10 Mb.

- The contest is NOT open to un-friends of Invisible Movement. If you were any sort of a troublemaker in the past, I’m not letting you compete in this, plain and simple. It’s about love, so people who don’t give love aren’t deserving of getting love back, anyway.

- The contest is NOT open to the young teenager who was spamming the last year’s contest.
