Since many people asked, I looked up into ways of pre-ordering Stadium Arcadium. And, here’s what I found out.

Amazon.com offers both the limited edition black box and the standard 2Cd pack. Click on the given links to pre-order.

Amazon.de offers the black box for 72 Euros, the regular double CD as digipak for roughly 18 � and the version in hard pack for roughly 23 �.

Amazon.co.uk offers the digipak, the hard pack and the black box, but the prices have not been announced yet.

As noted on the official site and on a couple of other sites, iTunes also has a pre-order offer. There’s been a possibility to order the album for roughly 20 dollars, but only for fanclub members. The bonus to 28 existing songs (Dani California is unlocked instantly as one buys this…) are band commentary, the “making of Dani California” video, digital artwork. Also, everyone who preorders the album on iTunes is eligible for Ticketmaster presale for North American tour dates (to be announced) and also to win a customised iPod with logo and band signatures engravated at the back + the whole RHCP back catalogue. There’s another chance to win another of those iPods, but the contest is open to fanclub members only.

Fanclub members can also pre-order the limited edition black box for 46 dollars, but the preorders haven’t started yet. In addition to that, 10 of the pre-ordered box sets will be signed by the band and randomly sent out.

According to a research some fellow fans have done, all of the above offers are pretty affordable, compared to the prices in stores.

Oh…since the black box has been mentioned so many times in this news item, here’s what the official press release says about it:

The Limited Edition 8-panel digipak contains 2 cd’s and a DVD. The box is a 3D-image shadow box containing a 28-page plus cover booklet containing lyrics and band photos. Bottom of box has compartments that hold various “toys” including a velvet bag containing 3 small marbles and a “shooter” marble, a wooden spinning top with four interchangeable “art” toppers, notes from each member of the band, and a fake matchbook that is really a miniature notepad. DVD contains of the Dani California (video), track by track interviews with the band and making of Dani California video.

According to the RHCP official site, people from these places will be able to see John and the guys in action this year…

And, once again, it seems that UK people will have too many chances to see John in action this month.

Here’s the definite news on when will the video be aired in UK (thanks to wonderful Amina once again!):
T.V magazine called “Radio Times” says that on Wednesday 5th April at 11.05pm the video will be shown. HOWEVER its says thet “RHCP video shown after Desperate Housewife”. So, the UK fans should DOUBLE-CHECK the time.

Also, there’s information on another show in that country (thanks to James and Maz):
RHCP are going to appear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on Friday 14th April at 10:35 PM on BBC1. It would be very nice if someone could tape that one and turn it into viewable format, by the way.

One more snippet for Frusciante and RHCP fans in Croatia (thanks to Mario): Dani California will be premierly aired on Otvoreni Radio on Monday.

This surfaced earlier today somehow, even before the official RHCP site actually announced it…it’s an interview with the band where they’re talking about Dani California…song, not the video clip. John is talking for the longest time and, I guess you all recognise the sight of The Past Recedes video.

Georgiy from Russia, a contributor of i-m.net, was very lucky to have a longish chat with Josh Klinghoffer, prior to the Sparks’ concert in Moscow at the end of February and Josh revealed a couple of things to him, all regarding the upcoming second Ataxia album!

The album will contain five songs, just like the first one did. John is singing the lead vocals on 4 of those songs, Josh on one. This time Joe Lally is not singing lead vocals.

The most-likely-to-be track order and song names:

2. The Empty’s Response
3. Attention
4. OLA
5. The Soldier

So far, the release date and the name of the album are unknown…I-M.net is looking forward to getting more information from Georgiy regarding his conversation with Josh.

As per RHCP official site:

1) The band will perform at the Sazka Arena in Prague on June 14. Tickets for fanclub members will be on presale from March 11 and the general public will have a chance to get their hands on them from 15th March on.

2) The band will be doing a run of promo dates throughout April and May in the UK, Germany, France (Paris), Denmark, Italy and the US (L.A. and New York) and gold and silver fanclub members will be eligible to win free tickets for those shows.

According to Videostatic.com, this is a photo of RHCP at the set for their upcoming Dani California video, directed by Tony Kaye (in the middle). Can you guys spot John?

I am guessing that the news posted on the same site earlier can express this:

Red Hot Chili Peppers will return this spring with the double album Stadium Arcadium, their first release of new material in nearly four years. Commercial/feature film director Tony Kaye has been tapped to direct a clip for first single “Dani California,” which will nod to the history of rock ‘n’ roll from the early ’50s through the present day.

…so, guess that was the dress-up from the psychadelic/glam era or something.
