A Big One

20:06:33 CET | Viewed 944 times | 4 comments

Yes, it’s been a little while again. But there’s been a lot of stuff. Look below.

Cosmetic changes you won’t care about…or maybe you will?!
There’s a brand spanking header image that loads randomly. The old one is still there, too. For everyone who remembers how the site looked like between January and May 2006, that would be nothing new.
Speaking of random, the list of random quotes from songs grew from S to XXL. And yes, I shall put them somewhere where they’ll be seen more easily.
The navigation bars on subpages (they’re called breadcrumbs, btw) are now highlighted.

Live photography update
07th December 2006, Vienna - by George Talmacsi
07th December 2006, Vienna - by Szilvia Vass
One more set of photos from this show, and it will be sharing the top place with the 2005 Vegas one. So…anyone?

Fanart update
A wonderful painting by Emmeline Pidgen, see it here.

Audio interviews update
22nd November 2006, XFM radio, London, UK regarding RHCP secret show - I’ve cut John’s interview from the huge audio file.
13th February 2001, Edge102 FM, Toronto, Canada, regarding release of TROWFTD - can’t remember who originally taped this, but it’s a beautiful one, despite the low quality.

Also, I am very happy to announce that there’s an audio player for all interviews. Yes, there’s a nice little yellow button you can click on and it plays the interview. And all of it is right there.

Discography update
I finally (that is, after three years) sat down and typed out the lyrics to all the songs with official lyrics available and transcribed almost everything of the rest. I’m trying to organise the additional information of each song, if any; and possibly allow the site visitors to analyse the songs’ meanings if they’d like to. For now, feel free to look at the songs index and a list of non-album songs. Please, be patient and don’t come up with ridiculous questions and requests.

Wallpapers update
in 1024×768 and 800×600.

An update to the global action is due tomorrow. Hint to a frequent site commenter who wanted to take part in this: I emailed you three times, check your inbox and spam/junk email folders.

Fanart
- Wallpapers by Leni (x4), William (x2), Ornella, Katy, Mohammed and Markus…some of them added a year after I was sent them, which is pretty bizzare and for which I most sincerely apologise. You can get them in 1024×768 and 800×600.
- Stunning traditional art pieces by Carly and Tuija Myllynen. You can view them here
- A digital fanart piece by Anthony can be viewed here

Live audio: covers
- 2007 live audio was updated with the cover from 23rd August (thank you, Stu!)
- 2005 live audio is now complete, as I came accross the cover from 25th August that year.
That makes 2005 the first complete year in terms of concert solos/covers. With your help, 2007 could be next. Go and see what’s missing and if you can help with eight missing covers from last winter’s USA tour and the Brisbane day 1 cover, that will be appreciated. As for Reading, that one will pop up easily. Or not?

More things coming soon, very very soon.

Screencaps
Alternate Desecration Smile video screencaps - by yours truly
Snow (Hey Oh) screencaps - many thanks to Flavia for having done these

This makes the collection of screencaps from RHCP music videos complete. 24 in total. 1201 pics for your viewing pleasure. Yes, screencap maniacs, I’m talking to you. And if you think you didn’t read the above well or that I, god forbid, made a typo, yes there is an alternate version of the Desecration Smile video.

Magazine scans
Bam magazine, 03rd November 1989
Juice magazine, October 2000
Kerrang, March 2001

*all of the above thanks to amazing Giz.

More exciting stuff coming soon, very very soon. I had some serious health problems last week, I need to finish detailed cleaning of my bedroom/study/office/IM.net headquarters (what a multi-functional room…), I have a lot of obligations over there at Lush (and the world should smell nice), a couple of more websites ordered to create (money doesn’t grow on trees, at least not here in Serbia!) et cetera. Amongst those “et cetera” things, I have about 300 emails related to this site that I have to reply to. Some of them are from 2006, even.

Your webmaster needs a vacation.
Funny comments in this update were brought to you and me by too much artificial sweeteners in Pepsi Max.

I-M.net board’s 2nd anniversary

23:26:41 CET | Viewed 555 times | Comments Off

Ladies and gentlemen, today, 2 years ago, the discussion board of this website came to life.

However, as one of the head moderators is having some serious problems and we’re all worried for her, this year we won’t be celebrating. I’m using this occasion to say that we’re sending good vibes her way.

Of course, everyone who has not joined the board in the past is still welcome to jump on and have a chat.

New poll!

3:36:50 CET | Viewed 597 times | Comments Off

After running the previous poll for more than a month and having had 1307 people vote, there’s a clear picture of what John and RHCP fans think of Josh Klinghoffer’s

According to 53% of voters did not mind Josh’s presence at all or they loved it.

The number of people who were not happy with his presence equals 23%, while 22% think he should be involved in John’s solo projects, but not with anything that concerns Red Hot Chili Peppers.

2% of people had no clue who Josh was. This should entertain you, guys.

Some people pointed out that Chris Warren, Chad’s drum tech, has been playing keyboards on By The Way ever since the song’s been played live. It’s just that he’s always in the back, behind the drums, and Josh was behind John.

IMPORTANT: If you guys still want to go on and on and on about this, this is the URL of the page where the poll is.

So, here’s a new poll. This month, it’s been a decade since John’s most enigmatic album to date, Smile From The Streets You Hold was released. And, in most cases, it’s either an album people love or an album they absolutely hate. It would be very interesting to see what you all think about it, as the situation’s completely different now, it’s been ten years and many things have happened in the meantime.

Of course, after voting, you can also comment on the poll.

Comments to this entry have been disabled in order not to confuse people.

Finally: more wallpapers
I was asked to make a couple of wallpapers with the photos from the February 1990 issue of Spin, so here they are…have a look! I’m a bit out of the loop now and my graphic programs are running slow as the computer is yet again in a need of more RAM, but I hope you like these.

Bug fixed
All the links are displayed correctly now. Apparently, the CMS doesn’t like long link titles, as weird as it may sound, so I had to shorten some sites’ names for that purpose. There’s no logical explanation for this bug, sorry. Also, the multimedia category is now gone and the links from that category have been moved to the other categories.
