A complete makeover

6:42:55 CET | Viewed 676 times | Comments Off

As you can see (I guess it’s pretty obvious), I-M.net has a brand new look yet again. There have been many people who didn’t like the old layout and it was a bit hard to navigate and, according to someone I know who has the third eye for art, a bit too dark. So, I decided to make a new one. Here it is. There are a couple of different head images and they will change randomly while you’re surfing the pages. As for submenus, they will appear on subpages. There are a couple of new features, such as the list of various web-based RSS readers you can add this site’s feeds too; as well as an event calendar, counting down to all the important days.

Hopefully, the new layout and the navigation system are more friendly to Firefox, Opera and those Mac brosers.

The fanart and the “just for the heck of it” pages are currently offline, but they will be back as a part of a new section; which is, at this time, unaccessible from the top-level menu. There might be errors on the site here and there, I’m working on getting everything in order.

As far as the regular site updates are concerned…

The message board has been almost completely customised to match the site’s purpose and theme, go and check it out.

There are two new videos from John’s press-only solo show in Hamburg’s Prinzenbar in 2001; in addition to the existing audio recordings of the very same songs.

I’ve found some more assorted quotes as well and made a bunch of new icons/avatars for you.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for having made 14th January 2006 the day with the most visits in the site’s history. The past couple of months have been very good for i-m.net, but yesterday was almost twice as busy, compared to other days. Thanks

Sorry for the downtime

16:21:44 CET | Viewed 568 times | 2 comments

As you could probably notice, the site was down for a couple of days, due to switching servers, changing DNS and some technical problems. I won’t bother you with what exactly happened because a site visitor didn’t comit a sin in order to be sentenced to listen to a geeky webmistress, so, forget it, we’re back and everything should be faster and the strange bug associated to many threads on the board should be gone.

Also, be aware that if you sent me an email between 6th and 9th January 2006, I probably didn’t receive it.

Thanks for your love and patience :)

…and more…

4:27:58 CET | Viewed 496 times | Comments Off

Another big pictures update, since I’ve been messing around with the unfinished dark corners of the gallery. So…

- At last, screencaps from the Funky Monks DVD and the Greatest Hits DVD’s “roadwork” section are online. So, click here and here to see them

- Screencaps from RHCP’s Under The Bridge video have also been revamped and they’re bigger and better now. They’re here and the screencaps from the other videos will be revamped as well, as the server space used to be pretty much limited and it’s not like that anymore, so why not enjoy them in their full size?

- Two more small galleries of concert photos, one from 2002 and one from 2004, have been added to the site; thanks to Emma Griffiths and Joe Clarkson. Check those photos here and here.

There’s more to come during the next couple of days, so watch this space. And I’m not talking about just photos…

One of the last big site updates in 2005

17:15:16 CET | Viewed 628 times | Comments Off

Here it goes, another “classic” update. There haven’t been many of them recently and I apologise, I have a very important project at work due by the end of 2005 and two heavy university exams in January, which is also the month when all the Ortodox holidays are being celebrated, so I can’t work on this site as much as I would like to. Also, huge apologises to everyone who’s emailed me and all the people who were nice enough to sign the guestbook. I will respond to you and/or thank you as soon as I can, my mailbox is a mess.

Articles section has been updated at last. And there will be more updates to it in the future, maybe even some full, scanned articles, as soon as I think of the right way to sort them. As I don’t have many of them, unfortunately, you’re more than welcome to send some of them to i-m.net. Click here to contact me.

Icons and avatars have been reorganised, for your convinience. From now on, the 100 x 100 pixels icons/avatars will be available here and the 70 x 70 pixels ones here. And…30 new icons have been added to the first and 3 new animated ones to the second category.

Three new wallpapers have been added, done by yours truly. One of them is an alternate, smooth, shiny version of one posted earlier and the other two are a part of my RHCP wallpaper series. If you’re interested in seeing the rest of that series, you can check them in wallpapers section over there.

There are also two new fans’ wallpapers, this time made by Simon. I owe him an apology since he submitted them long, long ago and I forgot to put them here.

A couple of new links have been added to the appropriate section.

Please, be aware that there’s a wee bit of maintenance (upgrading the news system, gallery system, other systems and the guestbook) scheduled for this website during the coming month, so, if you come here and everything’s suddenly broken or password-protected, it’s meant to be that way and it will be done just to make everything better:)

Happy 1st birthday to I-M.net

15:24:02 CET | Viewed 606 times | 1 comment

Just like the title of this news item says, happy birthday to Invisible Movement! Two days later than it should’ve been, I am sorry, I had lots of troubles at work and at the university and then I was too exhausted to make an update. I still am, even after unhealthy 28 hours of sleep, but, nevermind, here it goes…after this message.

I can’t believe that it’s already been a year since the password-protection was removed from this page and since the first visitors checked out this website. I was surpised with how easily the fans accepted it and now I am as suprised with how the number of visitors is increasing every day, having already passed by the impessive number of 100 000 unique visitors last week. And I was not really advertising this site, or at least not as much as the other webmasters do. Google has it listed 3rd or 4th when you type “John Frusciante” in the search field, other fansites link to me, the links exist in my forum signatures and, well, RHCP BBS kept a sticky for about one month in the John forum and I am thankful for that.

It was not always as bright as it is today, though.

- After an accident I am not willing to talk about in January 2005, I let two of my friends maintain this site for about couple of weeks. A lady called Anne from New York, USA, convinced me to come back and continue maintaining my website so, yes, I should mention her here and say a big thank you, Anne. I will never forget what you’ve done for me.

- In April, and then again in October this year, a regular site visitor thought it was completely OK to take off half of the photos from the site and other texts and put it on his website…and then he asked to be linked. Well, I had to report that to his host and the people whose stuff he took, but it looks like he’ll never come to sense. So, yes, it’s actually flattering to see that he’s using the texts I wrote myself.

But there’ve been wonderful moments as well.

- After the ATP festival, the Vegas, NYC and Atlantic City shows, people were wonderful, they were sending in their stories, reviews, audio, video and photos; making this site a better place to visit and making me, as a person, feel at least a little bit of the atmosphere from the events I was absolutely unable to attend. So, thank you, guys. If I ever wanted to give up on this, I would change my mind for sure.

- Mainly thanks to this website, my friendship with one of the literally nicest and most amazing humans on this continent and on this planet became much, much stronger and that’s one more reason not to stop working on this project. They will know who they are.

- Also, via this website, after the Vegas concert, a completely anonymus person, sent me an email and shared all of their experiences regardging the event, as if they’ve known me all their life. They will also know who they are.

- And, lastly, the board makes me feel very very proud, since for the first 3 months of its existance, there haven’t been any major incidents and since everyone is really nice to the others.

I would like to thank to everyone who contributed to this website (there are waaay to many people, sorry for not mentioning names, it’s better than forgetting someone). A new year has started.

As for updates, check the site for ….
5 new video clips
2 new wallpapers
updates on biography and info section, as well as all subpages in “site” section

BTW, the fanlisting has 112 members, board 217:)
