Rolling Stone did what they promised and they posted a sneak preview of the issue that’s out this Friday, 09th February 2007.
To watch the video, go here and if you want to save it, there might be something helpful in the forum here *hint-hint*
As soon as the article is out, Invisible Movement’s elf over there in USA will get her hands on it, so watch this space.

John to be on the next Rolling Stone cover!
16:44:08 CET | Viewed 857 times |
John Frusciante, John Mayer and Derek Trucks are the cover-men for the next issue of Rolling Stone…apparently, they have been called The New Guitar Gods.
The wait is over: You are officially privy to the powerful knowledge of who graces the next cover of Rolling Stone. (Don’t you feel special?) We joined John Mayer, Derek Trucks and John Frusciante at the Los Angeles covershoot to witness behind-the-scenes shenanigans. The highlights? The ever-loquacious Mayer politely declined to wear any of the clothes the stylist had selected for him, saying, “Rolling Stone is the cool jacket, so to wear the cool jacket is redundant.” Trucks had his kids in tow. He travels with them because he’s “seen the tragedy of neglect in families on the road.” Mr. Trucks, will you adopt us? Frusciante kept rather quiet. But all three rocked the house for a little impromptu jam session, which you can watch in its entirety right here tomorrow afternoon along with exclusive video interview of the strapping guitar gods. Who loves you, babies?

John on the TG cover again!
22:00:59 CET | Viewed 828 times |
John is on the cover of the British magazine Total Guitar again. This time, he’s there because he was a runner up to Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold as the readers’ choice guitarist of the year 2006.
In the same poll, Red Hot Chili Peppers won the best band, best album and best music video awards.
I do not have scans of this yet myself, as the magazine has not arrived to Serbia yet (hint-hint!), so you can check them out at Jane’s John Frusciante page, as Jane is the unofficial fast-John-article-scanning European champion for 2006 and she finds absolutely everything

Guitar Player, November 2006 issue

John is on the cover of the next month’s issue of Guitar Player and there’s a long interview with him inside. Among other things, he’s explaining which effects were used on which song on Stadium Arcadium. Some excerpts from the interview can be found on the magazine’s official website. Scans and transcript will be on the site shortly, as one of the I-M.net fairies is on her way to grab the magazine;) For now, here’s the cover:

A little John feature in Guitar Techniques
2:08:48 CET | Viewed 567 times |
There’s an article about John in the July 2006 issue of Guitar Tecniques. I’m guessing it’s an UK magazine since its price is written in pounds. The article is about his playing style and there are also six pages of The Zephyr Song tabs.
Here are the scans, I was lucky to come accross that magazine on Saturday.

There’s a pretty good article on John and RHCP right here. There are a couple of tiny mistakes in it, regarding how long John’s absense from the band lasted, what he bought this year etc, but it’s still a good read:mrgreen:
