Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action finally goes live!
23:51:52 CET | Viewed 829 times |
After 3 months of preparations, Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action has been through its first phase and yes, now it is online! Since there were problems reaching some translators, the action is open for whomever still wants to participate. Do not apply for Slovenian, Catalan, Persian, Estonian and Ukrainian, as translators for those languages have been found.
First of all, I would like to thank my friends Milica Radojlović and Rodrigo Mondragon Chaves for the amazing idea. Rodrigo was talking about translating John’s songs ever since early this year and Milica came up with how interesting would be to translate this particular song in September and that is how the GLOBAL action was born. But, in reality, the roots of the global action date to this very day, 07th December last year.
More on the project and the link to what it is? Click below; as, yet again, the text is long.

Yet another pop diva joke
13:25:30 CET | Viewed 481 times |
Jane O’Donnell of The Monitor is wondering which other people born in Queens could help a fellow Queens-born pop diva and actress Lindsay Lohan…funny enough, John is one of those five and the reason is pretty funny, not as serious as the be-a-role-model-to-Britney thing from a couple of weeks ago.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante:
Mr. California spent his earliest years in Astoria, you know. And check out the names of the work he’s put out solo. Wow. Get him on board for an album title at the very least. (Nobody’s Angel is a snooze, and you know it.)

Yet another John fan - Adrien Brody
20:46:32 CET | Viewed 726 times |
The Oscar-winning actor, Adrien Brody, spoke about his life, experiences and style for UK newspaper Daily Mail. Naturally, as someone who played the headline role in The Pianist, he also loves music and his taste is indeed classy!
For The Pianist, he didn’t have to fake his love of music. “I grew up in New York very influenced by hip-hop music but I have a pretty broad taste. I love jazz and reggae.”
“Recently I’ve been listening to John Frusciante [from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers] who has some solo albums that I admire, and I have Public Enemy’s new album in my CD player right now.”

Kerrang! awards

You can vote for RHCP in Kerrang Readers’ Poll 2007.
Here’s what they wanted to tell us.
2007 has been an amazing year for our music. Now we want you to tell us exactly who, and what rocked your world this year and which bands you’d like to see happily disappear off the face of planet rock for good! We’ll run the results in our December 15 issue - which hits shelves on Wednesday, December 12 - so get voting!
Here’s the category list.
You can vote for RHCP in best band, best single, best video (guess only two most recent singles are eligible for this…) and best live gig.
If anything else comes to your mind, errr…do it, why not?
You can vote as many times as you like. I am clueless about the criteria and IP logging there, though.

A strange comparison indeed
18:55:54 CET | Viewed 603 times |
Of course it has crossed some people’s minds that Britney Spears’ story has a wee bit in common with what John went through (just with glamour, family matters and way too many headlines added to that…), but it is a bit strange to mention John in an article about ms. Spears. However, yes, that happens sometimes…
That’s not to say that she’s bored with fame or with trendy night clubs or with surrounding herself with bad influences. Or that she’s going to go the John Frusciante route and give up all her vices to focus exclusively on her art.
Well, of course she won’t. It takes one in six billion people for that, r-r-right?

Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action. You can participate, too!
23:36:47 CET | Viewed 1,236 times |
This evening, my friend and I got a great, great idea while sitting and discussing music, world and boundaries at her place. So, I decided to go for that idea. And Invisible Movement visitors from all over the world are invited to participate.
Are you eligible? Perhaps. Read the requirements below.
- You have 5 to 30 minutes of free time for this. Yes, just that much.
- Your native language is NOT English[1]
- Your English skills are satisfying.
- You’re literate enough when it comes to your own language.
- You’re not a messy typer and you know what to capitalise.
- You have no problem with your first, last name and country you’re from being displayed on a page.
So, if you want to participate in this project, please email me at iva@invisible-movement.net with Invisible Movement’s GLOBAL action as the subject, and I’ll tell you what you have to do. And, just to make sure I said it all, regular contributors have first dibs.
1Volunteers have already been found for German, Italian, Norwegian, Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian/Montenegrin, Hungarian, Turkish, Swedish and Spanish language. But, at the moment all other languages are welcome! When I say ALL, I mean all. Everything from Arabic to Portugese; from Russian to Greek, from Hebrew to Japanese. When I say global, I mean global.
