And yet another eBay auction
18:02:12 CET | Viewed 577 times |
So, a couple of days ago, there was someone selling one of John’s rare paintings from the dark years. The auction ended with no bids and it’s not known what happened. Now, just when the dust has fallen down, there’s yet another auction. This time, it contains three coloured pencil drawings, one BMI medal from 1993 and a book about RHCP signed by John. Apparently, from what I checked when I saw what pictures are coming from, once again, this guy was just hired to sell the stuff for someone else. He has a whole company for helping people sell their stuff on eBay. Come to think, it was not that long ago when John did an interview answering fans’ questions…and he mentioned that someone was once given some of his paintings to sell, that she managed to sell some, but that he never got the others back. Yet, on this auction, the broker working with the seller is claiming that the seller is someone who’d lived with John for a while in early 90s and who is very sad to get rid of these valuable items. It could be the very same person, who knows? Anyway, the URL for the auction is here and the starting bid is 65 000 US dollars…

Authentic or not?

This is supposedly one of John’s paintings from the 90s and someone is trying to sell it. Might be true, might be a fake, but, according to the story, it’s real.

John`s testimonial in a booklet of Yes` boxset
22:42:37 CET | Viewed 544 times |
Yes have released The Word Is Live, a three-CD concert set spanning 1978 to 1988. Only two of the 26 songs, 1970 versions of “Them” and “Everyone,” have been previously released from the late John Peel’s BBC program, with the rest coming from assorted concerts in the US and Europe.
The booklet accompanying The Word Is Live features an introduction by Greg Lake from Emerson, Lake And Palmer, as well as testimonials from Rush’s Geddy Lee, John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, and others.

Attention, attention…

Hello there, people:)
Many people asked me how come that Invisible Movement, as one of the most-visited fansites, does not have its own message board. Well, my mom’n'dad, my friends Maria and Mira and a couple of others convinced me to create one. So, I see that some people have already joined, but I am inviting everyone else to join as well. The address is forums.invisible-movement.net and feel free to start posting:) It looks a wee bit empty right now, but it can become better with a bunch of nice people like you around. ^_^
The layout is pretty basic at the moment as well and the images are default ones, but I’m working on changing it.
Thanks:)

A rumour and a recommendation

A rumour
Here’s a question Dave Navarro responded to on his blog:
Q: Do you think there’s ever a chance John Frusciante will join Camp Freddy onstage sometime?
A: I literally spoke to him last week and asked if he would do one. He said he’d for sure do it. My hopes are for the October Vanity Fair show.
So, there goes the story that them two don’t like each other, it seems. This promises an interesting and probably unexpected collaboration. John’s name is still not on the list of people who have joined/will join Camp Freddy onstage, but having seen this, it will probably be there soon.
Many thanks to Christina for having found out about this:)
A recommendation:
There’s a very nice interview with John in the spring 2005 issue of Skyscraper Magazine, with some beautiful photos included. The magazine costs 5 US dollars and it can be ordered here, here or, according to the website, found in “most independent record stores, Tower Records, Borders, Virgin, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and regional chain stores”.
And I would HIGHLY APPRECIATE AND BE VERY THANKFUL if someone could send me a copy of that magazine or at least decent, normal-sized scans of photos from the article. I would get you something nice in return:)

No LA Awards, at least not this time
3:34:40 CET | Viewed 527 times |
John did not win a LA Weekly music award on 14th, the winner in the the category best home 4-, 8-, OR 16-track recording is Petra Haden. Congrats to Petra and more luck to John some other time and there will sure be plenty of ocassions to win an award for his great work.
