Five years of Invisible-Movement.net

Sometime this hour on 24th November 2004, Invisible Movement, back then probably critically anorexic compared to what it is now was opened to public. This is how it looked like. And it's been five years since that day! Earlier this month, the site went over the mark of 2 000 000 visitors, which was not acknowledged due to two occasions in a single month.

Five years on the worldwide web is like 50 years for a magazine or a newspaper - very long. It brings some sort of a tradition to the site - the way things are worded, the whole concept. In current circumstances, it also brings a number of responsibilities that I believe many people would avoid and stop dealing with. It required changing ways and views on some things, drawing a fluorescent line between what is allowed and what is not allowed, what's public and what definitely is not.

On this note, I would like to thank everyone who's been supporting the site from its conception on. That includes people who donated for hosting, those who helped me gather the donations (still no PayPal in this country - believe it or not!) and, of course, all the contributors - especially the people who had bruises on their arms from holding their cameras still, those who got blisters on their fingers from typing articles, those whose computers blew up from too much scanning or video/audio processing and conversion. Also, a very special thank-you to record companies, event organisators, insiders and a certain lady in her best years for their trust and understanding of the importance of this project.

Special thanks to those who do the exact opposite as well. There wouldn't be any balance without you and the occasions when you get your hands out of your rear end to type a bunch of mean crap. Pardon my French.

If I forgot anyone, that's totally and absolutely on "purpose". What can I do, us writers are chaotic. >_<

Anyway, enough babble, how about a gift? A friend of the site has sent me an awesome 2004 performance to share with everyone. So, go to this page to download Performance Five, which took place on 12th March 2004. It contains of two instrumental track, one of which is mostly synth and one of which is mostly guitar.

You can also hear it right here on this page if you don't want to download.

Not enough? Well, in case you're not aware, there's a little this-day-three-years-ago special running on Invisible Movement video archive and it will be running until 12th December. Videos might not be online on the exact day events took place in 2006, but the next day, depending on the volume that's being uploaded. Either way, just enjoy! Here's for another five years!

thank you Iva!!! I am so grateful for this page, it made my life so much better. You see, since I live in Sweden (well, I think that’s why) I can’t get into his official website, and I love him so much, it’s really… painful. I’m even considering to move to the US when I get older just to be able to go to his website.
So this site has really been a treasure!! I really can’t imagine the official website being better than this one.
Thank you so much!! Love from Sweden  and happy b-day Invisible Movement!!
