Under The Bridge makes it onto the list of the greatest guitar songs…
Under The Bridge has made it into the top 100 of Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitar songs; as 98th.
Guitarist John Frusciante's tone is as naked as singer Anthony Kiedis' addiction memoir. But the moving parts in his chord patterns and the hurt in his flourishes are symphonic. He modeled the chorus on Joe Jackson's "In Every Dream Home (A Nightmare)," but when he locks in with the drums and bass, you can hear funk — the kind you always get in true blues.
The magazine has also encouraged readers for their own input on the greatest guitar songs, the topic is here

Hell with that magazine and its once in a while deceitful rankings…this sucks….98th?…i guess it would have been more respectful of them to exclude “Under The Bridge” from that silly list of theirs than to rank it as no.98…and who the hell does create these lists?…a bunch of idiots that know nothing about high quality music?…how on earth could they ignore the brilliant job John has done in many songs such as “Emit Remmus” (where he beats the fuck outta his guitar, the same thing he said about his solo song “A Firm Kick”) or Wet Sand and its thrilling outro solo and many others that we’re all aware of….fuck RS magazine.
C’mon everybody….post your favorite lists as comments at the link that Iva has put up for us in order to turn things around in the remix of RS magazine current list which is due to be released next week….I ranked “WET SAND” as number 1,what’s your say?
